Day 1
Day 1 — Casablanca to Rabat: Begin on the Atlantic, Not in a Rush
Meals: Breakfast
Included: Private transport and planned visits
Meet the driver in Casablanca and travel the short distance to Rabat. If arrival timing allows, the Hassan II Mosque can be considered before leaving the city; otherwise the route goes directly to the capital. In Rabat, the Oudayas and Hassan Tower area offer a calm first look at Moroccan history without demanding a full-day programme.
Overnighting in Rabat gives the journey a clean start. The northern coast begins properly tomorrow, so the opening afternoon is kept proportionate to the flight schedule.
Day 2
Day 2 — Rabat to Asilah: Larache and Lixus on the Atlantic Edge
Meals: Breakfast
Included: Private transport and planned visits
Travel north along the Atlantic toward Larache, with the archaeological site of Lixus included when access and timing allow. The combination of an ancient site, a working river-and-sea town and the road itself gives context to Morocco’s northern coastline before arriving in Asilah.
Asilah is compact enough for an easy late walk around white walls and sea-facing ramparts. The day finishes with the ocean close by rather than with another long push toward Tangier.
Day 3
Day 3 — Asilah to Tangier: Cape Spartel, Hercules Cave and the Strait
Meals: Breakfast
Included: Private transport and planned visits
Leave Asilah and follow the coast toward Cape Spartel, where Atlantic and Strait geography become visible in a way maps cannot fully explain. Hercules Cave can be visited when open, while the beaches and headlands along the road make the journey itself worthwhile.
Tangier brings a sharper urban energy by afternoon. The kasbah and medina sit above a city shaped by trade, migration and proximity to Europe, creating a different northern atmosphere from Asilah.
Day 4
Day 4 — Tangier: Kasbah, Grand Socco and a City Facing Two Shores
Meals: Breakfast
Included: Private transport and planned visits
Stay in Tangier for a full day rather than treating it as a gateway only. The kasbah, Grand Socco, the American Legation area and Café Hafa can be connected through the medina and streets between them, with sea views appearing repeatedly.
Tangier’s interest lies in layers rather than a single monument. Moroccan, Mediterranean and international histories meet here, and a slower day lets those connections become visible without filling every hour.
Day 5
Day 5 — Tangier to Chefchaouen: Into the Rif, with Akchour Only When Conditions Fit
Meals: Breakfast
Included: Private transport and planned visits
The route leaves the Strait and turns into the Rif toward Chefchaouen. Once in the mountains, an Akchour walk can be added only when weather, trail conditions, daylight and the confirmed programme make it sensible. Waterfall or God’s Bridge routes are never treated as automatic.
Chefchaouen remains the overnight base. Whether the day includes hiking or not, arriving with time for the blue medina makes the transition from coast to mountains feel complete.
Day 6
Day 6 — Chefchaouen: Blue Lanes, Ras el Ma and Mountain Light
Meals: Breakfast
Included: Private transport and planned visits
Today stays within Chefchaouen. The medina, kasbah area, Ras el Ma, local crafts and a viewpoint such as the Spanish Mosque can be explored at a pace that respects the town’s steep layout. Exact access and the final viewpoint depend on local conditions and timing.
A second night matters because the city changes once day visitors leave. The quieter evening is part of why this stop deserves more than a few hours between road stages.
Day 7
Day 7 — Chefchaouen to Al Hoceima: Follow the Mediterranean through the Rif
Meals: Breakfast
Included: Private transport and planned visits
This is one of the defining road days of the tour. The route descends through the Laou River Gorge and follows the Mediterranean through small coastal settlements, with El Jebha and Bades forming part of the northern sequence according to timing. Near Al Hoceima, the landscape becomes steeper and more maritime around the national-park coast.
The road is winding, so distance alone does not describe the day. Stops are chosen where they genuinely improve the journey, and arrival in Al Hoceima is kept early enough to settle by the sea.
Day 8
Day 8 — Al Hoceima: Viewpoints, Fishing Culture and Seasonal Beach Time
Meals: Breakfast
Included: Private transport and planned visits
Remain on the Mediterranean for a second day. Al Hoceima’s viewpoints, fishing life and traces of the Spanish period give the town historical as well as coastal interest. Sfiha or another suitable beach can be included for walking or swimming only when season, sea and safety conditions support it.
This is deliberately lighter than the surrounding road stages. Fresh fish, a café overlooking the water or an unhurried coastal walk can be the main event rather than an optional extra.
Day 9
Day 9 — Al Hoceima to Fes: Rif Passes, Taza and Sidi Harazem
Meals: Breakfast
Included: Private transport and planned visits
Turn inland through the Rif passes and Aknoul area toward Taza. The scenery shifts repeatedly from Mediterranean slopes to interior valleys, making this a substantial but geographically revealing transfer. Taza medina and Sidi Harazem can be used as route stops according to timing.
Fes is reached later in the day. We do not try to begin the old medina after the long crossing; check-in and a calm evening protect tomorrow’s guided visit.
Day 10
Day 10 — Fes: Craft, Medina Life and an Optional Hammam or Cooking Session
Meals: Breakfast
Included: Private transport and planned visits
Fes el-Bali needs local guidance to make sense of its density. Craft districts, the Chouara area, madrasas where accessible and the commercial lanes can form the core of the day, with enough time to see work continuing behind the shopfronts.
A hammam or cooking experience is added only if it has been confirmed and suits traveller comfort. The city itself remains the essential experience, so an optional ritual never has to carry the whole day.
Day 11
Day 11 — From Fes into Guerrouane Country: Vineyards Optional, Rural Landscapes Essential
Meals: Breakfast
Included: Private transport and planned visits
Leave the medina for the agricultural country around the Guerrouane region. Olive landscapes, farms and open countryside show a side of the Fes area that is easy to miss when staying only inside the old city.
A winery visit or tasting is strictly optional, for interested adults only, and requires confirmation. Travellers who do not drink can keep the day focused on rural scenery, food and local agriculture without losing the purpose of the excursion.
Day 12
Day 12 — Fes to Volubilis, Moulay Idriss and Meknes, then Back to Fes
Meals: Breakfast
Included: Private transport and planned visits
Use Fes as a base for a historical loop. Volubilis opens onto Roman streets and mosaics in the countryside; Moulay Idriss adds a living sacred town; Meknes brings gates, walls and imperial history into the same day.
Returning to Fes avoids another hotel move and leaves the luggage in place. The excursion is full enough on its own, so additional detours are avoided unless the confirmed timing clearly supports them.
Day 13
Day 13 — Fes to Marrakech: A Long Transfer across Central Morocco
Meals: Breakfast
Included: Private transport and planned visits
This is the longest inland transfer of the coast itinerary. Rather than disguising it with too many stops, the schedule uses sensible breaks, lunch and changing landscapes to make the journey manageable. The distance is part of linking northern Morocco with Marrakech in one continuous private trip.
Arrival is planned for the evening with no major city visit attached. Marrakech deserves attention tomorrow, after a proper night’s rest.
Day 14
Day 14 — Marrakech: Medina History and Cooking, When Included
Meals: Breakfast
Included: Private transport and planned visits
A local guide can connect Jemaa el-Fna, the souks, the Bahia area and other confirmed historic sections into one readable walk through the medina. Marrakech feels markedly different after the coast and northern cities, with more heat, colour and intensity at street level.
A cooking class is included only when booked. If it is not part of the package, the same time can be used for a garden, craft quarter or a slower late afternoon without changing the logic of the day.
Day 15
Day 15 — Marrakech to Essaouira and Back: A Full Atlantic Day Trip
Meals: Breakfast
Included: Private transport and planned visits
Leave Marrakech early enough for a genuine day in Essaouira rather than a brief photo stop. The road crosses argan country, then the fishing port, ramparts and medina bring the Atlantic back into the journey. Seafood and walking time are more important than trying to add every possible activity.
Return to Marrakech the same evening. It is a substantial day, so the road back is kept direct and the coast itself remains the focus.
Day 16
Day 16 — Marrakech: Optional Balloon at Sunrise, then Departure
Meals: Breakfast
Included: Private transport and planned visits
A sunrise balloon flight is possible only for travellers who have booked it and when weather and operator approval allow. Because departure timing varies, the experience is never assumed; for many flights, a normal breakfast and direct airport transfer will be the better plan.
The final hours stay practical. After sixteen days from Atlantic north to Mediterranean Rif, Fes, Marrakech and Essaouira, punctual departure matters more than adding one last attraction.
