Itinerary

Day 1

Across the Atlas — Aït Benhaddou and Ouarzazate

Across the Atlas — Aït Benhaddou and Ouarzazate

Leave Marrakech early for the High Atlas crossing. The road climbs through foothill settlements toward Tizi n’Tichka. Practical pauses and viewpoints break the drive where road and weather conditions permit; a warm layer can be useful outside summer.

At Aït Benhaddou, the local guide leads a walk through the earthen ksar and explains the relationship between its lanes, towers and former trading route. Paths and steps are uneven. Allow time for lunch at your own expense before continuing to Ouarzazate for the Taourirt kasbah exterior and town surroundings. A film-studio interior tour is not part of this programme.

A short camel stop near Marrakech is included in the day, with its order arranged around the mountain route. Return over the Atlas with the group. This is a long outing of around twelve to thirteen hours, so keep the evening free and avoid a same-evening flight connection.

Meals: No meals included. Included: Shared return transport, Aït Benhaddou local guide, camel stop near Marrakech and scheduled local fees.
